With an objective to further enhance the strategic partnership between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the World Economic Forum (WEF), and during Professor Klaus Schwab, the Founder and the Chairman of (WEF) visit to Riyadh from 5-7 November 2019, both sides have signed an agreement to establish an affiliated Center to the Forum’s Center for Fourth Industrial Revolution in the Kingdom. The Center is the fifth of its kind in the world.
On Wednesday, 06 November 2019, at the headquarter of the Ministry of Culture in Riyadh, and in the presence of number of senior officials from the Kingdom and WEF, both His Excellency Mr. Mohammed Al-Tuwaijri, the Minister of Economy and Planning, on behalf of the Kingdom and Professor Klaus Schwab on behalf of the Forum have signed the agreement.
The agreement marks the start of the cooperation between WEF and King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST), with the support and coordination of the Saudi Center for the International Strategic Partnerships (SCISP). KACST will be responsible for the operation of the affiliated Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution, whose mission is to accelerate the development and implementation of the policy frameworks of emerging technologies and their governance protocols”. The purpose of center is to serve the Kingdom in the best way through researches, studies and best practices.
